Your Clothing- How to Maintain the Quality of Your Favorite Clothes

You have your favorite piece of clothing that you love and cherish and you dread to think how you will be able to live without it. Unfortunately, no matter how much you love your favorite clothing, it wears away over time. The thing you fear most is about to happen – losing your very favorite item! Well, don’t worry about that a lot because I am going to show you what will make you enjoy wearing your favorite clothing for an extended period of time before it gives up to deterioration.

Laundering your clothing. Specific methods for doing laundry or laundering clothing have been developed over a long period of time. The most commonly used methods are, hand washing, machine washing and dry cleaning. Chemicals and other solvents are used to remove stains and dirt when laundering. All this is done to ensure that your clothing is in a good state.

Most of your clothing is designed to be pressed or ironed before wearing. This is because pressed clothes are said to be better looking, they appear to be clean, fresh and tidy. It’s quite a good idea to iron clothes that require ironing, not only will they look neat, but bugs like lice (which usually hide in seams) can be exterminated.

A great number of present-day clothing is made of knit fabrics that do not wrinkle quickly, and do not need ironing. Such clothes, if permissible by the manufacturer, can be hot-water -washed to eliminate bugs which can be very annoying. Dry cleaning the non-ironed clothing (if advisable by the manufacturer) is another way of maintaining the quality of your favorite garments.

Hint: Before you wash your clothing, read the label on the garment. This is because some kind of clothing does not require dry cleaning and some, machine washing. Failure to do so may result in you damaging your favorite item of clothing rather than preserving it.

Storage of your clothing after laundering and ironing also has an effect on the quality of your clothing. Clothes hangers can be used when storing your clothes before wearing them again. Neatly folding your clothing and placing then in the closet preserves then in a better-looking manner.

Mend your clothing. Buttons may fall off, fabrics may tear off, seams may come apart and zippers may fail. It’s the right time you mend your favorite clothes. You don’t necessarily have to wait until your clothing falls apart (remember you love your piece of clothing!). “I don’t know how to mend clothing!” you might say.  A precise tailor will be happy to mend your item of clothing for a reasonable fee. Rather than throwing away your favorite clothing because buttons have fallen off, you can fix it.

Despite efforts to maintain your clothing in good quality, there comes a time when you will no longer wear them.

Disposing and or recycling your clothing. Sell the clothes to dress agencies and online auctions. The clothing is then collected, sorted out and shipped for re-use in poorer countries. Better still you can donate them to charity!

Maintaining your clothing in good quality through laundering, ironing (if possible) and good storage can ensure you that you will have many days of enjoying wearing your clothes before they lose functionality. Take care of the good clothes you have.

Right Clothing Color – Dress With Colors That Impress

Colors play an important role in the clothing industry, and for you to make a firm impression on the way you dress you need to understand what colors are suitable for you and which ones to wear. The color you choose will determine whether you make a favorable or an unfavorable impression on the people you come across.
Everyone has their favorite color(s) - you may have noticed. If you haven’t noticed yet or even if you’re not sure, you can ask your friends or your family members who notice the way you are dressed nearly each and every time you put on some clothing!
Having your favorite color for your clothing might even make you like the piece even more. However, having our favorite color as a basis for choosing the right color for our clothing cannot prove to be successful all the time. The most important thing is to wear the color that complements you.
Dressing in the color that is suitable for the occasion makes you look impressive! It is also important for you to understand the meaning of each of the diverse colors. People who are mostly dressed in hues or shades of blue are seen as cool. Blue generally sends the signal of tranquility and peacefulness. The same goes with softer shades of the green and brown colors. A red color on the other hand signifies confidence, power, self-esteem and authority. So give considerable attention to how you choose your color, subject to the kind of the picture or image you wish to portray.
Your skin tone plays a big role in helping you to choose the right color – in this case the color that flatters your skin tone. There are different types of skin tone- light, fair, medium, olive, brown and black. Clothing colors like dark brown and burgundy, to name just a few, are really impressive against brown or olive skin tones. If you have a dark skin tone it is not advisable to dress in solid or dark colors. Light and fair toned skin looks best against bright colors like white, yellow and pink. Colors like black, gray and navy blue look great on medium skin tones.
Hair color also helps determine the right clothing color for you. Example, light blonde and auburn haired individuals look best alongside the following colors; red, ivory, aqua and peach.
Choosing the right clothing color helps reflect your individuality, persona and mood. Keep in mind however, that the above are just typical guidelines. You might be astounded at how a certain color that is not meant to look suitable on you makes you look amazing! Have fun choosing the right color.

Good Clothes that Suit You- Learn How to Choose Good Clothes

Good clothes that fit you well can boost your self-esteem. They give you a sense of self-worthiness. Your thinking is transformed and, wow, you feel invincible! If you like the nicely dressed person you see in the mirror, then, certainly your confidence will be boosted to a greater extent. Clothes which suit your body can have such good effects on you.
Here are some useful steps that you can follow when choosing the right clothing for your body;

Wear Clothes that are Right for Your Body
Wearing the right clothes (not too tight or big) will make you look even bigger. When buying clothes, you may choose those that are tight or short, if you have a thin figure.
Also, a belt or scarf that dangles toward your lower limbs might make the legs appear longer (You wouldn't like that!). Ladies, avoid belts at all costs unless you have a slim waist.

Thinner fabrics make you look slimmer, but as for those that you can see through, wear a satin, nylon or cotton camisole underneath them. Too large clothes will not veil your body shape but they will make you look bigger instead.
When it comes to color, a top and a bottom of one color will make you look slimmer, but be sure to wear different hues or shades of that same color.

Tip: Clothes with prints here and there can create a fuller you. So, just wear prints near the parts of your figure’s assets (breasts, etc.). Why? They appear to be more attractive than solid colors!

Check the Quality of Clothes
After choosing the right kind of clothes you must also check if they are of good quality. Check the elasticity of the material. You should also study the labels of your clothing so you know how to properly take good care of them (washing, drying and ironing). This helps to keep them in their good quality.

Tip: Most good quality articles are hand stitched (scarfs, etc.)

Don’t Be a Slave to Every Fashion
The clothes we wear are governed by fashion one way or the other. Does this mean that you will have to wear all clothes that hit the fashion industry? The answer is NO! You must choose clothes that will compliment and suit your figure, so, find the clothes that are right for your body type and size.

Choose a Good Bra and Underwear
Ensure your bra and underwear is proper for you, not body-hugging or wobbly or bulgy. Wearing boy-shorts beneath your pants makes you look slenderer and not have those ‘underwear lumps’ that can be embarrassing at times!

Tip: If you find it difficult to comprehend your bra size, go to an undergarments store and get measured correctly.

Satisfied that you have chosen clothes that suit you well, you will be thrilled to feel their comfort as you walk down the street in them. You can even turn some heads around in admiration! You feel good about yourself- your sense of well-being is multiplied. So, go ahead and choose good clothing for yourself!
